Player Bio: Mike has been playing football since he was 9 years old. He is a strong high school player at Canon-McMillan Pennsylvania the position of both middle linebacker (ranked #2 by Scout.com) and outside linebacker (#9 by Rival.com). Next fall he will be attending and playing football for Penn State University.
It was a great honor to be selected to the USA team, and it will be a great honor and experience to represent my country in the USA vs World football game.
I was a little unsure about practice today, seeing as it was the first day, but once I got on the field and started moving around I became more comfortable.I think our team will come together after a couple more days of practice because the coaches are working us pretty hard and we will get used to each other’s strengths and tendencies on the field.
All of our coaches here seem to have pretty similar coaching styles. They want everything to work out for the best, and the assignments they give to everyone are not too difficult to pick up. If everyone can get a few days of practice in, we should be able to learn and execute the assignments they gave to us.
Being a part of this game is a great opportunity and I want to take back some memories and meet other kids from different countries. It will be great to know some of the different cultures and it will be a neat experience.
One of the biggest challenges this week, I would say, is that the team needs to come together. We need to get used to working together and everyone needs to know their different assignments going into the game. It would be great to be able to play a strong game and beat the World Team, because they are very good. I think our team will handle ourselves fine against the World Team and I hope we can get the job done that we set out to do.
