…………………
I have been playing football since grade 8, so this is my seventh year of playing.
I was really happy when I found out I was on the provisional squad. I was kind of confident, because I had a really good season at St. Francis Xavier University. I am excited to be here. It is a very big honor to be selected to this team, because there are some big names on this team from around Canada and the world.
We have very different set-ups to our practices here. I really like it though. I am being open-minded about it. I think the coaches are doing a great job. I am confident in them and I feel they are confident in us. I think it going to be good.
With our team, there is definitely a language barrier. Some players do not speak English that well, but overall we are able to overcome it and it has been going pretty well so far. All of my teammates seem like they want to be became a family over this week.
During this experience, I am excited to get to know players from around the league in Canada. It will be nice to be able meet up with some of these guys later on playing in the CIS and say hey after a game.
During Saturday’s game against the US, it will be awesome to see how I measure up against some of the best players in the United States; which is also obviously some of the best players in the world.
I am also looking forward to the Pro Bowl. That is a once in a lifetime experience. I can’t wait to meet the players that I watch on TV. To be able to see them in real life will be pretty incredible.
But first we need to concentrate on our game. I think our team will be bigger and stronger than the US team. We have more experience at a higher level. For the most part, we have been playing at the university level. I have been playing against guys that a 28-years-old. That experience will definitely help me out in this game. I am looking to see how athletic Team USA is. I’m expecting big things athletic wise, but I think our experience will help us big time. Saturday will be a great game!
