Celtics Beat Heat

The Boston Celtics defeated the Miami Heat last night 107-102. Rajon Rondo led the way with 22 points and 14 assists, and Eddie House contributed 16 points off the bench. Paul Pierce missed the game with an injured foot and is not expected to be back in the lineup until this weekend at the earliest.

Celtics Defeat Wizards to End Losing Streak at Three

The Boston Celtics defeated the Wizards 99-88 last night to put an end to their recent losing streak. Rajon Rondo registered another double-double for Boston with 17 points and 12 assists, and Kevin Garnett chipped in with 19 points. Garnett also moved ahead of Larry Bird into 24th place on the NBA all-time scoring list with 21,792 points.

Celtics Fall to Lakers in Final Seconds

Kobe Bryant scored with 7.3 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to give the Lakers a 90-89 lead over the Celtics and Ray Allen missed a shot at the buzzer that could have won the game for Boston. This was the third straight loss for the Celtics, who fell to 29-16 on the season.

Magic Pull "Houdini" Against Celtics

The Orlando Magic were trailing by double digits entering the fourth quarter tonight. Somehow, they were able to grasp a miraculous victory from the jaws of defeat. The Celtics played porous defense during crunch time which enabled the Magic to pull ahead with 1.3 seconds left. Rasheed Wallace's last ditch effort from downtown wasn't even close and Orlando joyously exited the court with a hard fought and well earned victory.

Rondo and Pierce Selected as All-Star Reserves

Rajon Rondo and Paul Pierce were chosen to suit up for the Eastern Conference at the 2010 NBA All-Star Game to be held February 14th in Dallas. This is the first selection for Rondo, although many people believe he was worthy of a spot on last years team. Pierce will be making his eighth All-Star appearance. They join fellow Celtic Kevin Garnett, who was named as a starter earlier this month.

Ray Allen Subject of Trade Rumors

Ray Allen's name has been circulating in trade talks recently, but the "Celtic Sharpshooter" would prefer to remain in Boston.
