Vikings fall in Charity Bowl in Vienna, Austria

VIENNA, Austria – After three successful outings in Europe, Augustana finally tasted defeat in international football competition. The Vikings battled the elements and the Austrian National Team on Sunday, May 30 in the Charity Bowl before falling 10-3. This is the second time that Augustana has played in the Charity Bowl, with the proceeds going to benefit a local orphanage in Vienna, Austria.

Berlin, Germany

The Elmhurst College football team arrived in Germany on Monday, May 31 as they embark on their Tour of Berlin & Prague journey.

The team will be overseas until June 8 as they try to see as much as possible during their stay. Along with the amazing sightseeing the team will be exposed to, Elmhurst will also fit in time to practice as they prepare for a game against the Prague All-Stars. The game will be held on Saturday, June 5 in Prague, Czech Republic.

During there first full day in Germany, the Blue Jays wasted no time as they immediately began exploring the country.

Blue Streak Football Blog - Day Eight ("c'est bien fini")

Each day that the John Carroll Football Team is on its journey to and from France, Blue Streak junior Luke Whitworth will correspond through jcusports.com. His reports will be posted as soon as they are received. This entry represents day eight - c' est bien fini (it's all over)

This will be my last update from Paris because we start our travels back to the states at 6 am tomorrow morning.

Before I tell you about today, I wanted to mention a few things I had forgot about yesterday. On Sunday morning, some players and coaches made their way to a nearby church for mass in the morning.

Luther College defeats Ingolstadt Dukes in Germany

After exchanging first quarter touchdowns Luther College put on an offensive and defensive show of strength in overpowering Ingolstodt 70-7 in the Bavarian town outside of Munich. The Luther players started the day by visiting an injured local player in the hospital and touring the historic area. Coach Mike Durnin now will take his Luther team to Heidelberg before returning home to Iowa on Tuesday, June 1.

JCU defeats the Tounai Phoenix in Amiens, France

Today we made a two hour trip to Amiens, France, to take on the Tourani Phoenix. I must apologize because I originally had said the Belgium All Stars, but in fact we took on the Phoenix. In the Belgain American Football League (BFL), the Phoenix reached the semifinals of their postseason playoffs. The Belgian Bowl was taking place the same weekend back in Belgium.

D-Day beaches, Loire Valley, Paris

DAY 3

This was a day where we went non-stop from morning to night. We started off the day meeting our tour guide, Caroline, who was instrumental in guiding us through all the D-Day experiences we went on.

It was a day long history lesson for us. We started off with an hour drive to a German bunker where the allies dropped 700 tons of bombs leaving the land devastated. There were craters all over this bunker. It was incredible to see the land structure completly changed by the bombs.

Football posts 63-6 victory over Italian All-Stars in Pontremoli, Italy

Kyle Simmons completed 7 of 7 passes for 98 yards a 2 scores and Brent Donley ran six times for 94 yards and 2 TDs as Ohio Northern defeated the Fedearazione Italiana Football All-Stars 63-6 in the Italian Classic Saturday afternoon in the sunny hills of Tuscany.

The Polar Bears improve to 2-0 in international exhibition games, as they trounced the Bavarian All-Stars 77-0 three years ago in Furstenfeldbruck, Germany.
