The first PAA Tournament Series event on Lake Cherokee turned out to be a great tournament with huge attending crowds. The top 30 cut was stacked with heavy hitters and some of the best anglers from BASS and FLW. Congratulations to Tommy Biffle for bringing in a 16.76 bag on day-3 and clinching the win. Great way to carry the momentum forward after his recent Elite Series victory. I finished 61st, not where I wanted to be, but definitely learned a lot of lessons about Lake Cherokee, which fishes differently than any other lake I’ve ever been on.

I’m heading out for day two of practice on Lake Cherokee in Tennessee. Competition for the first Bass Pro Shops PAA Tournament Series starts July 8th. This is my first time on the lake so I’m trying to locate productive water. I spent time up the river yesterday, mainly due to 4th of July boat traffic. I’m hoping today eases up a bit so I can run the main lake and work my way down to the dam. I have two more practice days left and I’m hoping to piece together a good solid plan. FLW probably couldn’t have selected a much better lake to finish the season than Lake Guntersville in Alabama. It truly is an amazing fishery full of giant bass. I had an awesome pre practice and that is probably why I am less than satisfied with the last three days of official practice. I knew I would have to relocate the fish I found a few weeks ago, but they are not biting as well.
