Fantasy Campers Hail Fifth Annual Penn State Football Fantasy Camp As A Great Success

28 players from ten states took part in the five-day event in State College

STATE COLLEGE, PA – June 16, 2009 – As the fifth annual Penn State Football Fantasy Camp concluded, 28 PSU college football fanatics returned home after successfully living out their dreams of being a Nittany Lions player on the hallowed field at Beaver Stadium.

This year’s camp was held from June 9-13 as campers aged 37 to 67 received hands-on instruction on the field from coaches Jay Paterno, Larry Johnson, Bill Kenney, Kermit Buggs, Mike McQueary and Galen Hall.

Coach Joe Paterno was proven wrong. When he first heard of the idea of a Ladies’ X's and O’s football camp at Beaver Stadium, his initial reaction was, “You’ve got to be kidding. You’ll have three women show up.”

Blue Team Wins Fifth Annual Penn State Football Fantasy Camp Game at Beaver Stadium

The curtain came down on the fifth annual Penn State Football Fantasy Camp with a game in Beaver Stadium that ended with a 16-12 Blue Team victory.

It was a perfect June football day in Beaver Stadium as coaches Jay Paterno, Larry Johnson, Bill Kenney, Kermit Buggs, and Rick Sayles took their Fantasy Camp squads, with an average age of 48 years young, onto the hallowed turf. Some 250 family members and personal friends cheered on their dads, grandfathers, sons and dear friends under sunny skies as the men battled for Penn State Football Fantasy Camp title.

ENTHUASTIC LADY NITTANY LION FANS TIE IN FIRST-EVER PENN STATE FOOTBALL LADIES X’s & O’s FLAG GAME

STATE COLLEGE, PA – Friday, June 11, 2010 – A group of 52 Lady Nittany Lion enthusiasts arrived at Beaver Stadium for an 8am registration on Friday, June 11 eager to begin the first-ever Penn State Football Ladies X’s & O’s Camp.

The camp was led by current PSU wide receivers coach Mike McQueary with the help off the Graduate assistants Elijah Robinson, Travis Rundell, and equipment manager Brad ‘Spider’ Caldwell.

'Living the Dream' at Penn State Football Fantasy Camp

The group of 28 honorary Penn Staters from ten states made their way to the stadium this morning as they brushed off their cleats and suited up in the coveted Penn State Football locker room each person having a locker with their name on it.

The excitement level growing by the second as the group of men aged 37 to 67 are ‘Living the Dream’ – playing football at Penn State University.

Since the average is 48 years-old, before starting in any position drills the group did some on-field stretching and calisthenics to loosen up the ‘ole muscles.

The Penn State Nittany Lions fanatics eagerly arrived in State College, Pennsylvania as the fifth annual Penn State Football Fantasy Camp commenced on today.

This year the camp features 28 campers from ten states who will have the chance to play football where legends have gone before them – on the practice fields of Penn State and ultimately on the hallowed football field at Beaver Stadium for the Blue-White Fantasy game on Saturday, June 13.
