Since we just went over the White Sox, this seems like a good time to honor one of baseball’s zaniest owners with a division of his own: Bill Veeck. Veeck’s father, William Veeck, was a Chicago writer who often wrote about all the things he would do differently if he ran the Cubs. Cubs owener Will Wrigley Jr. liked what he saw and made Veeck team president. That type of thing happened back in the day. I cant see Jay Mariotti being employed by the White Sox anytime soon.
